The Provence almond tree :
A family-grown ingredient

Almonds from Provence: The origin of our story

Across more than 11,000 almond trees planted on the Valensole plateau, Terraroma stands as one of the leading independent producers in Provence. Our orchards are cultivated using an agroecological approach, without glyphosate, to preserve living soils and encourage biodiversity: bees, sheep, native plants, and beneficial wildlife thrive in harmony.

The almond tree finds an ideal climate in Valensole: cold winters, hot and dry summers, and limestone soils rich in minerals. This terroir produces almonds with a delicate flavor, a natural crunch, and a high concentration of nutrients.

Our almonds are used in:
– our Pralines de Pauline
– our gourmet creations
– our hydrating skincare products

They embody our family’s story, our deep connection to the land, and a way of working rooted in care, patience, and respect for nature.

Fine lavender from Valensole:
Artisanal distillation

A high-quality fine lavender essential oil

Fine lavender from Valensole is the emblematic ingredient of Terraroma. Grown on our family farm in Valensole, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, it is harvested at full maturity and then distilled using a natural pre-wilting process followed by a slow distillation. This method preserves an exceptional fine lavender essential oil, naturally rich in linalool and linalyl acetate — the two molecules behind the soothing and balancing reputation of Provence lavender worldwide.

Terraroma lavender is used in:
– our pure essential oils
– our lavandin candles
– our pillow mists
– our soothing skincare products
– our dried flowers for the home

Lavender from Valensole is not just a medicinal plant: it evokes a light, a landscape, an atmosphere. Each bottle holds a part of Provence.

Lavender honey IGP Provence & Label Rouge

The benefits of lavender honey for the skin

The IGP Provence lavender honey we use in our cosmetics is harvested by Benoît Millet, a beekeeper whose hives are located on our land in Valensole.

Certified Label Rouge, this lavender honey is distinguished by its creamy texture, delicate aroma, and high antioxidant content. In cosmetics, lavender honey is known for its soothing and nourishing benefits for the skin: it helps retain moisture, supports cellular regeneration, and protects against external aggressors.

Lavender is an exceptional nectar source: it produces a pure, highly concentrated nectar that yields a naturally fragrant honey, rich in antioxidants and gentle on the skin.

This honey is used in:
– our Un Printemps à Valensole skincare range
– our gourmet creations
– our Provençal recipes

Its direct connection to our fields, our bees, and our craftsmanship makes it a precious ingredient—radiant and deeply rooted in the character of Valensole.

Olive oil : A millennia-old Mediterranean ingredient

Cosmetic properties of natural olive oil

Olive oil lies at the heart of our Un Hiver à Valensole range. Selected for its purity and richness in polyphenols, vitamin E, and essential fatty acids, it embodies the Mediterranean art of skincare practiced in Provence for centuries. In our natural cosmetics, olive oil deeply nourishes dry or fragile skin affected by the cold, strengthens the hydrolipidic barrier, and helps prevent skin aging—without weighing down or clogging the skin.

Rich in polyphenols, vitamin E, and essential fatty acids, olive oil is known for its ability to:
– intensely nourish the skin
– strengthen the hydrolipidic barrier
– soothe feelings of tightness
– protect against external aggressions
– help prevent skin aging

In skincare, it provides a soft, smooth, and enveloping texture, perfectly suited for dry or cold-sensitive skin.

Its subtle scent and natural softness make it an essential ingredient in our Un Hiver à Valensole range.

In Provence, olive oil is part of both agricultural and culinary heritage. It reflects the Mediterranean art of living, the light of olive groves, and the importance of plant-based rituals in skincare.
